Iridology: The Window to Your Health

Updated: Mar 2

Iridology has been studied for thousands of years but, “modern” iridology arose in the mid 1800’s from Dr. Ignatz von Peczely of Budapest, Hungary. The iris has more than 28,000 nerve endings and represents the entire body!  The iris is directly and indirectly connected to the autonomic nervous system and central nervous system. Iridology is a science and art that uses non-invasive viewing and analyzing the delicate structures of the iris. Iridology is an important tool that can detect a genetic predisposition for potential deficiencies, inflammation, and tissue irritation within the body (systems, glands, organs, and emotional well-being). If a genetic tendency for deficit is found, preventive healthy lifestyle adaptations can begin before actual physical symptoms arise.

The practitioner observes and evaluates the iris’s color, pattern, pigmentation, and structure to assess the client’s overall health and potential for deficiencies. The zones identified within the iris can show health or genetic potential for weakness in the digestion, circulation, lymph health, bones, muscles, and skin.

Iridology is controversial within the medical community. However, some medical and health professionals recognize that iridology is a very useful tool in detecting active or potential health conditions.

When used as correctly intended, iridology can offer knowledge on overall health that is not obtainable any other way. This is a vital factor in a holistic health care plan.
